Recently I attended the 3rd annual reunion for the U.S.S. Dempsey DE-26 in Norfolk, VA. One of the activites was a tour of the Norfolk Naval Base and the U.S.S. Stump. Here are a few of the photographs I took on board the U.S.S. Stump.

Looking down on the transmissions connecting the two (2) gas turbine engines to the screw shaft, U.S.S. Stump, Gene Carlson Photo
The screw shaft is visible in the middle of the upper portion of the photo with the two (2) white stripes on it.
Another shot of the transmission, U.S.S. Stump, Gene Carlson Photo
Again, the screw shaft is visible in the photo with the white stripes.

The "box" to the right side of the photo houses the gas turbine engine.
