Syrian troops were preparing for the attack since the 10th of August by shelling all the free regions in Lebanon especially the enclave of SOUK-EL-GHARB with all kind of gunners (130mm,180mm & 240mm), and this for 3 days until the 13th of the month when they launched the attack.

The troops who participated in the attack were the following:

PSP (JOUMBLATT TROOPS): 1200 MEN

PALESTENIANS (ABOU MOUSSA): 350 MEN

PC (COMMUNIST PARTI(HA!HA!HA!-HARAM-)) : 200 MEN

SYRIAN ARTILLERY

In the begining, ennemy troops managed to enter Souk el-gharb and occupy several positions that the lebanese army was obliged to evacuate, like the Assaed and the Kalaa' positions.Meanwhile all other positions resisted strongly to the attack and obliged the invaders to pull off and retreat.

The strike back of the lebanese army didn't take long, as soon as the commandos maghayir reached the front, the counter attack begun and a few hours later the front was again clean.

The battle of Souk el-gharb showed the syrians and the world that lebanese patriots are determined to defend themselves till the end, and they're ready to do anything in order to defend lebanese territory from any foreign agression.So we say to nasty syrians and their professional puppet JOUMBLATT : NAIIMANN.
