There are many versions of this small and cute helicopter.
Alouette I, II and III, named in Romania IAR-313, IAR-316 or IAR-319 (the difference being in the engine), is still in active service in many countries and will probably continue to do so for years to come.
The Romanian Air Force currently uses 88 IAR-316B lightweight, high-altitude transport helicopters, and 12 IAR-316A light attack helicopters.
In total, Romania has built over 400 French helicopters under license, since the late 70's and until the year 2000.
