Excellent Information
for spouses and/or family members with gay lesbian bisexual or transgendered people who have left heterosexual marriages. Professionals and the wider community need to be aware of the impact on spouses and family members when a spouse/partner comes out. The straight Spouse Network (SSN) addresses their unique needs, isolation and attempts to increase understanding of those involved.

PFLAG South is a group for the parents and families with lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered members. It is based in the lower half of the South Island, New Zealand.

The group aims to help families in understanding their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered members and in accepting them with love and pride.

It offers a chance to meet with other families in an informal and, where necessary, confidential setting. It also offers support and advice where this is needed.

PFLAG South also provides a point of contact for the exchange of information between groups and individuals.

Meetings are at 7.30 p.m. on the 4th Monday of every month.
