Customising your Graphical User Interface (GUI)
You need GCFScape to unpack the .gcf files to edit them for your game.
The interface is designed over a 640x480 screen so all references go to that size. The placement is done by x and y references from left and the top, r and b references from right and the bottom or can also be done from the centre c . You simply edited the co-ordinates and the position will change. Extract hud_layout.res from the counter-strike source shared.gcf and then change the co-ordinates. Guess work and simple math will have you rocking a funky new heads up display (HUD) in no time.
Here's a picture of my GUI. I moved the armour and health so they are together, the chat window is up slightly and shorter so it does not infringe on locaiton marker, round timer is moved over slightly so it looks better asethetically. Also my health flashes for 5mins once it goes below 25hp and as most rounds are 5 mins it last the whole round which is good. HUDlayout.res
