My Digital Camera Page |
My old Kodak DC3200 camera died. I replaced it with a Vivitar Vivicam 3750. I think of it as a smaller DC3200 with better resolution. I've got my sights on a Kodak DX6490/7590 or Panasonic Lunix series cameras.. I like the Kodak for its use of Schneider optics with a mind boggling 10X optical zoom range. But the Panasonic Lumix cameras are using Leitz optics, with stabilization, and zoom ranges out to 12X!!! Actually, I rather like the little Vivitar. Yes, it is quite limited. But one can work within limitations when you understand them. A lot of the images throughout this site are courtesy of my old Kodak 1 MP camera (like this shot of my old Caravan), and a growing number were done with the Vivitar. There are some images on the repair pages that were shot with Sony Mavica floppy disc cams. All have limitations, all have plus'. I will work on adding some pretty pics, not just car stuff... Yippee!!!! I now have the Kodak DX7590. Very nice little camera. I haven't had a chance to really play too much with it, but so far, it is what I expected. The lens on it is very respectable and clear, plus with the 35mm equivalant of 38mm to 380mm, there isn't much I can't cover. It also has 3x digital zoom, but at the extreme limit, it is the same as a 1MP camera, but then again, it is way out there... I intend to get the lens and filter accessory adapter, so I can use filters and my superwide lens adapter. Pics will be added soon! |
