 Mama, Dito Sa Aking Puso

The tale of love and acceptance between a Filipina and her American daughter was originally brought to life on television via the drama anthology show, Balintataw; the on stage as mounted by Peta at the UP Campus and Raha Sulayman Theater; and finally on film as an episode in Lino Brocka's triptych, Tatlo, Dalawa, Isa. In its latest incarnation, the mother played by Nora Aunor together with her teenage daughter moves to a place in Paco after the termination of the US bases in Olongapo and joins an old friend who has, in turn, an American son. The encounter is not without unhappy result that made things awkward for both parties. Aunor reprises with aplomb the role essayed in the past by Rosa Rosal for television, Armida Siguion-Reyna for theater and Anita Linda for the earlier film.
