| This is all that is remaining of the old Pierpont farm near Leipsic...an old barn-like structure. This is where the Pierpont's parents lived at the time of his escape. Directly behind it on the other side of the field stood his brother Fred's place. That is now completely gone. At one time there was a dirt lane that ran across the field between a wooded area to each of the farms. The Pierpont's used this instead of having to travel down the road and around the country block to reach each others homes. The farmhouse burned down years ago and a newer home nows sits on the property. Respecting the privacy of the homeowners, no photos of the house were taken. |
