Above and right: Formerly St. Andrew's-By -The-Green Episcopal Church, it was nicknamed the "Whistlin' Kirk" on account of it being the first post-reformation church to have an organ. The original organ is now in the Concert Hall of Glasgow University. The building was converted into an office for a local housing association.
Above: A view of Provand's Lordship, the oldest house in Glasgow, from St. Nicholas' Garden at the rear.
An old doorway in a lane leading from Trongate, in the Merchant City.
Below: Virginia Court, a vestige of Glasgow's more prosperous past, in the days of the Tobacco Lords. Were it not for the cars parked in the yard, the picture on the right could have been a scene from a novel by either Charles Dickens or Arthur Conan Doyle..
