I can't begin to count the number of times that I've sat back and reflected on my childhood.  Most of all, I think of the wonderful memories of two special people . . . Taffy and Jamie Murray.

We lived on Bloomington Avenue in South Minneapolis. It was a beautiful neighborhood with everything that any city kid could ask for - neighbors that knew you by name, a store that sold "penny" candy, a perfectly blue sky in the summer and snow so deep in the winter that you thought you'd be lost forever until the first signs of spring.

Taffy was an exceptionally beautiful child, and Jamie, was the quiet and sweet one. While their parents, John "Murray" and Charmaine worked, mom took care of the three of us during the day.  It was like having two sisters.  This was the way of life for a number of years until the family packed up and moved to Colorado. Our hearts were heavy with sadness on that day.

Taffy ("Taffi Ewing") and I took different paths in life and it would be many years before we had a chance meeting in the 80s.

Today, Jamie is teaching at the University of Wisconsin.

On August 18, 2003, at the age of 52, Taffi was embraced in the arms of a greater spirit.  She is survived by her son, Sean, and granddaughter, Anna-Bela Marie Sawyer-Ewing, in addition to a host of family and friends.

This page is dedicated to them.

Postscript:  In May of 2005, Jamie contacted me via email.

Jamie's nephew (and Taffi's son), Sean, saw this site and told her about it.

Sean, mom and I thank you . . .
