         Awarded Sites

PoP's "I Dig-Em'" Award is for WFSI Sites only. Your input is welcome for candidates:

I will not presume to be an expert at anything, and I surely know nothing of web design. I do have 48 years of study and relic hunting the War For Southern Independence under my belt. This should give me a degree of insight into things related to that great war. I know when a  Home Page catches my attention. I can also sense the labor of love put into the creation of the site. This is what PoP's "I Dig-Em'" award is all about. This award is only given to W.F.S.I. Home Pages where facts and a labor of love is seen. They must be factual in the representation of the W.F.S.I., they should be willing to share what they have learned with all at no charge. They must also be willing to answer questions about their site with a cheerful  response.
Each one of PoP's "I Dig-It'" awarded sites is well worth a visit if your interest is The War for Southern Independence.
I highly recommend each of them as "I Dig-It'"sites.

SITES"MUST" BE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.

JOHN'S DIGGER'S DIARY

John is one of the old timers, he has been a WFSI buff and relic hunter thirty some odd years. He and his son Todd, have help save many artifacts from construction on Virginia's battlefields. John is also the author of many well written articles for the Treasure Magazines. He is a true student of The WFSI and his Southern pride shows in the work of love put in his super site. He is an asset to our unique community and I am proud to know him. Visit John's Digger's Diary by clicking
HERE, you will be glad you did.

PAUL'S CIVIL WAR CARDS

Paul has a very unique Home Page. I had forgotten the WFSI Trading Cards of the 1960's. Surfing the net, I came across Paul's great site and it has a lot more to offer than collector cards! He has a fantastic WFSI weapons page with outstanding photos.Paul's is a must see site, not another like it on the
web. You can get there by clicking
HERE.

THE C.W.?? ARTILLERY PAGE

Folks this site is awesome! Chuck's The WFSI Artillery Page has more information on the subject than any site I have seen. The information is well organized and factual. I recommend all students of the WFSI visit Chuck's site. Even us old timers can sharpen our knowledge at this great site. Get there by clicking
HERE.

THINK YOUR SITE WORTHY OF A VISIT BY PoP ?

The main theme "MUST" be The War for Southern Independence, State rights or Southern Independence. If statements on pages are made as fact, those facts must be available on request. You must be willing to answer questions made by your visitors about subjects on your site.

All humor must be noted as such or done in a way it is obvious. It can not contain hate, anything risque, pornography or words in poor taste...Also, sites linked to same will not be considered for PoP's Award.

Your site need not be a work of art, I could not judge that anyway....I am a poor site builder.

What I will look at is the meat of the pages and effort put in it. Remember, your sites main theme must be "The War for Southern Independence", State Rights or Southern Independence. If any visitor would like a review of their site knows of a site I should look at for PoP's
I Dig-It' award, please let
ME know.

SITES"MUST" BE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.

The 1st Maryland Cavalry Battalion, CSA is a combined unit that strives to reenact the citizen soldier from Maryland.  It was formed to provide enjoyable opportunities for individuals and families to experience, learn, and in return, teach others about all aspects of life in the mid-19th century.  Everything from the military conflicts and tactics to civilian life with its social expectations and implications, are experiences that Living Historians in the 1st Maryland Cavalry attempt to re-create.
