WHY HE DESERVES HIS BIG BREAK:
Few people get more of a "who?" reaction than Kevin Corrigan. However, he's not known as "Mr. Independent Film" for nothing. Corrigan has starred in nearly thirty independent films over the past ten years, including Living in Oblivion, Henry Fool, Buffalo '66, and as Natasha Lyonne's Charles Manson-obsessed boyfriend in Slums of Beverly Hills. His most memorable role was as "Bill the Ugly Guy" in Walking and Talking (1996), Catherine Keener's video store worker lover who's good enough to sleep with but not good enough to date full time. The high point of the movie is when he gets to be the dumper instead of the dumpee.

Corrigan made his debut in 1989's Lost Angels, shortly after writing a play that was produced by the Young Playwright's Festival of New York. With the exception of Goodfellas, where he played Ray Liotta's wheelchair-bound younger brother, Billy Bathgate, and Bad Boys, virtually all of his films have been made outside of the Hollywood machine. In 1997, Corrigan wrote and starred in Kicked in the Head, a comedy about a wayward twentysomething who gets tangled up with small-time criminals. Strangely enough, "Mr. Independent Film" has most recently taken a role on the FOX series Grounded for Life. Hopefully this won't signify an appearance in Erin Brockovich II in the near future.
