LOREN DEAN |
BIRTHDATE: July 31, 1969 BIRTHPLACE: Las Vegas, Nevada MARITAL STATUS: ???? WHY HE DESERVES HIS BIG BREAK: Loren Dean is probably better known for who he ISN'T than for who he is. He's gone through most of his career being confused for Ethan Hawke, and confused audiences further by playing Ethan Hawke's brother in 1997's Gattaca. Born in Las Vegas, Dean worked on stage, acting in such productions as Beggars in the House of Plenty and Four Dogs and a Bone. His big break was supposed to come in 1991's Billy Bathgate, but the film was a critical and box office failure, and Dean was stuck getting roles in other stink-bombs like 1492: Conquest of Paradise, The Passion of Darkly Noon, and Mrs. Winterbourne. But it was Dean's subtle performance in the underrated Gattaca that finally drew attention, and in 1999, he was given his first romantic lead in the modest success Mumford. Hopefully, his career will go a different route than his "Twinner" Ethan Hawke. |
