This car had a little run in with the train.
It's front end is all smashed in. OUCH!
This driver was having a bad day.  We had just left San Bernadino California. This guy crashed right through the crossing gates and ran into the side of our train.  You would think you would see a train. I mean we did not hit him, he hit us.  Kind of like running into a building, don't you think?  I just hapened to be standing at the back of the train with my camera, when I heard the brakes release and  the train go into an emergency stop. I knew we had either hit something or one of the air hoses let loose.  As I'm looking out  the back door of the train I see the car.  I forgot I had my camera in my hand. If I was just a few seconds  quicker I would've taken a picture looking down on the car.  Anyway whenever we have a road crossing accident, the conductor has to go back and see if anyone is injuured.  No one was hurt in this accident.  Neither the train or the car were traveling fast.  This guy was lucky. Usually there's not much left of the vehicle, let alone anyone traveling inside of it.
