BOOTSTRAP BILL'S ENTRANCE
by Sarah

Chapter 3

Will felt really guilty. Governor Swan wouldn't agree to cancel the reception just for one person. He didn't realise how much this meant to Will. How he yearned to spend time with the father he had looked for, for so long. Will got no enjoyment from the party, how could he when his 'long lost' father was lying in the room upstairs dying.

Will could only endure this sucession of congratulatons from incencere snobs for so long. When there was a pause in the conversation he made his apologies and snuck upstairs.

He entered the room.It was dark exept for a lone candle flickeing in the corner. Will walked aver and knelt beside the bed, "Are you feeling better?"

"How can I feel better? Everyday brings me one step closer to death."

A voice came from out of the shadows, "Belay that rum talk. Why are you so keen to depress the boy?" the stranger stepped into the flickering light. Stood there was Captain Jack Sparrow large as life.

"Jack, Why don't you stow your tongue for once!" said Bill tring to sit up, "Your big hatch was always getting us into trouble."

"I know when I'm not wanted." Said Jack giving a pretend look of hurt, "You look like ye' needs one of those soppy heart to heart talks, so I will leave before I get the urge to vomit. Savvy?" said Jack dissapearing back into the shadows. Will heard the window open and close.

He turned to the old man that lay on the bed helpless. The man he had found only to lose again.

"I-,"

"Do not worry about me. You are well. You are married to a lovely girl, who I'm sure will make you happy. That is enough now I can end my days satified."

"Maybe theres a cure. We could get a second opinion-,"

"Theres no cure. I cannot fight the enevitable neither can you."

"I-I have so many questions."

"Then you must ask them if it soothes your thoughts."

"Why did you turn to piracy?"

"I ask myself that everyday. I suppose at the time it was a solution to the circumstance I found myself in. One mistake started me on the course I have followed." He began to cough violently gasping for breath. Will panicked. He ran to the door and cried out "Help! Quickly someone fetch a doctor!" He ran back inside.

His father grabbed Will's sleeve and pulled him close,"Will, whatever happens never abandon those you hold dear-,"The sentance ended with a gurgle. Will was afraid. He pulled back from the bed and ran out the door. He could see the doctor just coming up the stairs. He called to him, "Hurry! I think he's dying!"

When the doctor and Will entered the room to their disbelief they saw the bed was empty.

"And just where is this patient?"

"I don't know he was here a moment ago. I only left for a second." Will scanned the room it was empty. He couldn't figure out how a dying man could have escaped the room. It was then he noticed the note on the pillow. He picked it up with it was a small gold medalion. The medalion had an inscription on it. Will read the note all that was written on it was, "Savvy?"

So this had something to do with Jack but what it meant Will had no idea....
