have left us all with many beautiful memories...

Showered in gifts and tons of wishes
But in this family, only one thing misses...
Where is the birthday girl?
Where can she be?
Why isn't there anyone I can see?
Well, in this family they don't sing to make-believe
But really to an angel, whom to them will never leave.
People wonder why they don't cry
Well that's cuz they're numb, down inside.
These sisters are different
They've learned to look deep
Inside their souls for their angel to keep
That's where the mother finds her too
And the father was the first one who knew.
He gave them strength for another empty birthday
and Mom gave the shelter from the gloom gray.
Smiles and song
Come from fake hiding the wrong
that happened to their angel
And got them in this faking birthday tangle
These sisters they stare
Into an empty birthday...that's bare.
Everyone looks down in wonder
Of how they made it through this cold, harsh thunder
So fragile and innocent
Now broken and bent
Into this fake routine
Of a birthday unseen
Where is their angel?
Well, she's gone away
And despite her utter absence
they continue her birthday
and celebrate her life
and put behind their strife
That her passing has caused
They put their grief on pause
For her life is more worth celebration
Than a tragic family separation
So I gaze at an empty birthday
And strain harder to find another way
To continue to pretend like everything is okay.
