Political conservatives and civil libertarians are in the same boat during a Prohibition. There is nothing blinder than a Prohibition law. Even the most rabid "conservative" becomes a "card-carrying" liberal when it comes to his own civil right to freedom from false arrest. Many Americans are frightened of traveling America's highways. They are actually afraid to travel to the next town, or are terrified to take a cross-country vacation far-away from home. People fear surprise tow-truck bills, accidental crashes, violent carjacking -- at least, this is what they are told to fear by a corporate newsmedia with a financial incentive to hide the facts. In reality, citizens are a thousand times more likely to meet these same dangers at the hands of ruthless government police forces. Perhaps these paranoid American citizens are not so far off base after all?

• Over NINETY-PERCENT of all police manpower is directed at prosecuting citizens who drive motor vehicles?

Doesn't this sound like a Prohibition to you? Hasn't the corporate newsmedia done an excellent job of keeping this Prohibition quiet? The rules have changed since America's last alcohol Prohibition. Today, the government has secret rules. A Secret Prohibition. A Prohibition targeting consumers instead of corporations. This type of Prohibition is infinitely more profitable for the government, and infinitely more difficult for the citizens to defeat. The corporate media rose to the defense of fellow corporations sixty years ago. Who will rise to the defense of ordinary citizens today?
