About Deb and Jerry

Updated: July 2007

Hi, my name is Deb and Puplover's is my page. I grew up in a rural town in Northwest Indiana. I was raised by two wonderful Christian parents along with 3 brothers.

I married Jerry when I was nineteen years old, time just seems to fly! We belong to the First Christian Reformed Church on our community. We lived in the town neighboring my hometown for three years, then we moved 5 miles into the country, so we have deer running through our yard on rare occasions along with all the other assorted wild animals. I love to feed the birds, with hummingbirds being my favorite. In the winter, when my diminutive friends are gone, I like cardinals, bluebirds, titmouse, nuthatch, and Downy woodpeckers.

Jerry was raised in the town we live near. He runs his own business of selling and installing flooring, carpet, linoleum, tile and some wood flooring. He worked for his dad after school and when we were married. His dad died in 1987. As he became sick, he couldn't run his shop any more so he sold it and Jerry worked for the people who bought it for a while. We decided it wasn't working out a few years later, so Jerry started his own business. He has been working at it now for over 15 years and supplies us with all that we need. I help out with customer service, ordering, getting supplies, and bookwork. He likes to fish, and he owns a Honda VTX 1800 that he loves to ride. He is my best friend.

We were blessed with two children, our oldest, Keith, and our youngest, Amy.

They are both married, Keith and Amber have two sons, Allen, and Trevor. Keith works as a driver for UPS. They own two Huskies, Buddy and Gunner.

Amy and her husband, Jeff adopted an eight year old boy, and had a son and daugher naturally, 11 months apart. Amy is expecting again, and is due in December. They own a very nice Golden Retriever, named Sammy, and two cats.

Jerry and I own three dogs right now, an older Chinese Crested, Ricky, who is 15 years old, a 7 year old Dalmatian, Chip, and a 4 year old Chinese Crested, Tad.

I enjoy doing crafts such as crossstitch, crochet, sewing, drawing, and anything that comes along to challenge me.

I also love getting my hands dirty in the yard and garden. My favorite plants are, iris, daylilies, and hosta. I have other plants around, but if these were the only ones I could have, I would be happy. My friend, Lynne, and I found a daylily farm near my home. We go there frequently to see what she has that is new and exciting. Lynne has learned how to hybridize her own Daylilies, so we have some seedlings growing and blooming that no one else has, it's fun! I intend to try my hand at it, too, this year.

A few years back we found out about a hosta farm, so of course, we had to investigate. It was worth the 45 minute drive to view this wide array of hostas. The owner said he had over 250 varieties and was working at adding to his collection. He sold them in pots and would dig from his display, also. We were quite impressed. It was a lovely day out. On the way home we saw a small iris farm, so of course we had to stop. No one was home, but we walked the field to admire the beautiful flowers.

I also really enjoy doing graphics on the computer. I really love to draw dogs, and do them using the mouse on my computer. You can visit my graphics pages to see what I have been up to.
