Tad
CH Woodlyn White Admiral I had been looking for a new puppy for almost a year. Every time a litter was born I would look the puppies over, and choose one, tentatively, but for some reason, or another, they wouldn't work out, conformation would not be correct, bite might be off, eyes and ears not good. Well, then the butterfly litter was born, all the puppies would be named after butterflies. The breeder, my best friend, LynnE, told me that there was a stand-out puff male puppy in this litter. I went over and something in my heart went click! I had to be careful, though, because I had to wait until the ears, eyes, and well-check tests confirmed that he was okay. As he grew he just became more beautiful, and he loved me! He decided that I was his favorite person, when he was five weeks old. When I visited, he would hear my voice and come to me right away, no matter what he had been doing. I worried about how our Dalmatian would accept this new puppy, we had been having some problems with him, and I am not glad that he got sick, but it worked out great! Chip, our Dalamatian, had to have surgery to remove a urinary stone. He had the operation the day after Tad joined our family. For ten days Chip had to be walked on a leash so he wouldn't tear his stitches. In that time Tad and Chip became acquainted, began to know what they could and could not do, and how to be gentle with each other. When Chip finally had the freedom of running free in the fenced yard, it was obvious that these two boys loved each other. With Tad becoming a new member in our family, Chip found happiness! When Tad was a little over 5 months old I began taking him to conformation classes, so he could learn what was expected of him in the show ring. When he was 6 months old we began his show career, a career that sure didn't last long! VBG To become a champion a dog needs 15 points, with 2 majors included in there. Majors are shows where the dogs earn from 3 to 5 points, the amount of point are determined by the amount of dogs shown. The first two shows Tad didn't do so well, but gained good experience. The second weekend out, he earned a 3 point major. The next weekend out he earned 2 points. Then we had a big weekend in Marquette, Mi, where he earned two majors and another two points. We took a weekend off of showing, getting ready the following weekend to go to the Nashville Specialty. The first day Tad place fourth in the puppy class. Which is quite an honor at a Specialty. The second day he went Winner's Dog, earning him 5 points and his fourth major!! He finished with 18 points! Not only is this puppy very nice to look at, but he has such a wonderful disposition!! He loves everyone, has never met a stranger, and is such a joy to be around. Now on to other things. He is enrolled in the puppy agility class beginning in November, 2003. We are looking forward to years of fun!!! To see some pictures of Tad click here.
