Divas Las Vegas came about because of the Tri State Tea 4. What started as my costume for the 50's event, soon became my idea for a new chapter here in Las Vegas. My bowling shirt had Diva Las Vegas on the back!
Next step was our Halloween party at work. I brought in my red witches hat, purple jack-o-lantern (with red twizzlers for treats!), my red velvet cape and my little red hat bear witch. This little display caught some attention and before I knew it, I had 3 people wanting to know about Red Hatting and joining! So, with Princess Daughter, Kalena, and yours truly Queen Diva Dee, we have a nice little chapter of 5 at this time.
Our first event together is the Nathan Burton Comedy & Magic show at Aladdin's 'V' Theater, November 12, 2006. Nathan was on America's Got Talent show recently. I've seen his acts on TV and from the first row in the theater live and I still don't know how he does it! We are also combining lunch at Lombardi's with the show. I opened the sales up to other chapters. Sadly, the turn-out was less than I would have liked. But we still had a great time. Nathan stopped by with his Mom during our lunch and signed pictures and we took pictures with him.

Our first cookie exchange was a success! We had fun chatting with each other, eating some yummy finger foods and exchanging cookies and recipes. Plans were made for the next event in January.

Our friend, Nathan Burton (member Nancy's son), attempted 24 hours as a human popsicle on May 21, 2007. Unfortunately, the heat and wind put an end to this stunt after 8 hours, at which time it was deemed unsafe. Here is a picture of the stunt test. By the time we got to Planet Hollywood, the melt-down had begun. We still had a great time getting together and had dessert at Planet Dailies afterwards.

We gathered at Princess Kalena's Castle for a little holiday fun in the triple digits of our Las Vegas summer. A pot-luck dinner and gift exchange rounded out this movie & popcorn evening. Our feature film...White Christmas! What else?! Our guest member, Pam (Amber's Mom) joined us from Tennessee.

Tri State T 5 - What a great weekend! Unfortunately, my camera decided to pitch a fit so I do not have pictures to share. Countess Esmerelda Jane does though! This year's event was a Happy Birthday party so we were encouraged to flip our colors for the weekend. How about that Countess? She made her hat and outfit! Joining us was Princess Kalena, in all her royal splendor!
Breakfast with the Queen, October 27, 2007
Guess who forgot her camera as well as her spider drop earrings to go with her red & purple witches hat??? Yup, that's me, the forgetful Queen! We had a great breakfast in Boulder City, followed by our favorite past time - shopping. Some of our gals found what they were looking for, others started their Shoebox Christmas gift shopping and others just enjoyed the company and morning. We had 7 members and one guest in attendance. Our hats sported Halloween themes too! We discussed upcoming events within the chapter. Some of us headed to the other side of the city afterwards to attend a Halloween lunch put on by another chapter.
We met at the Ice Cream Overload Cafe for Sundaes on Saturday, November 10th. With over 150 ice cream combinations and a Red Hat Special to boot, this cafe has something for everyone!
In attendance, Virginia, (Guest) Laila looking like a pinkie in her lavender shirt & pink hat, Foxxy Grama Nanci, Carol, Suezq, Queen Dee (who remembered the camera this time!), Countess Esmerelda Jane, (Prince) Johann and our very own Princess in Training, Lady Emma.
Our 2007 Holiday Par-tea
We celebrated our second holiday together at the home of Countess Esmerelda Jane. Queen Dee catered the event with tea sandwiches, assorted breads, cakes and more. Our napkins were white handkerchiefs embroidered by Contess Esmerelda Jane with our initial - dual purpose for casual dress up as well. Table favors were a small red vase with flowers in either pink & lavender or purple and red. We had a shoebox gift exchange. Everyone outdid themselves with decorated boxes, store-bought goodies as well as homemade items. We ended the afternoon with a cookie exchange.

January & February birthday girls, Grand Lady Pam and Foxxy Grama Nanci chose Red Lobster for their birthday dinner location. Queen Dee, Duchess Diva Leigh, Dame Carol and Diva Suezq joined them.
Dame Carol had a most excellent idea of celebrating St. Patrick's Day early! We gathered at McMullins Pub with our wee bit 'o green and enjoyed food, fun and friendship. Thank you Dame Carol for hosting this event!
Diva Suezq opened her home to us for our March fun event - GAME DAY! Not your 'normal' games like dominos or board games...no ma'am! Offered up were foosball, darts, pool and.... Wii!! Needless to say, we never got past playing Wii! We bowled, played tennis and baseball. There was so much laughter that I'm sure the neighbors wondered what we were up to! Suezq also provided a wonderful lunch, desserts and a wide variety of beverages. Quite the day...with many thinking of buying Wii and repeating this fun event in the future.
