He was promoted to Capt on 25 April 1861.
He was Commissioned Major March 6th 1862. As Major he commanded the Regiment on June 18th 1862 at the battle of Richmond Va., On May 31st 1862 at White Oak Swamp Va, In 1862 at Charles City Va., and on July 1st 1862 at Malvern Hill Va.
He was Commissioned Lt. Col. On July 26th 1862. As Lt.Col. he commanded the regiment on Sept. 1st 1862 at Chantilly Va., On Aug. 28th 1862 at Blackburns’s Ford Va., on Dec. 13th 1862 at Fredricksburg Va., and on Jun.15th -Jul.4th 1863 at the Siege of Vicksburg Ms.
He Commanded 2nd Brig. 1st Div. 9th Corps Jan. and March 1865.
He Resigned and was Honorably Discharged July 30th 63.
He died in February of 1903 at Passadena California.
