{Residing in Roxana he enlisted as a Private on 14 March 1864 in Company A of the 2nd Michigan Infantry.}
{He was discharged 06 June 1865.}
He had a brother Ira who also served in the civil war. {enlisted at age 21 as a Private in Company E 6th Mich. Cav. on 04 September 1862. Mustered Out at Fort Leavenworth, KS on 24 November 1865.}
After the war Thomas married Mary M. Croff and they had 6 children.
He died August 11 1892 and is buried in Holton cemetery in Muskegon County, Michigan.
