I believe he was transfered to Company "A" and became their first 1st Sgt. He was transfered from Company "A" to HQ, as RSM after.
He was promoted to Regimental Sergeant Major on the 15th of August 1861 and was transferred from Company A to HQ the same day. (Estimated day of Promo)
He was promoted to 1st Lt. on 22 September 1861.
He was promoted to Captain on the 25th of August 1862. He was transferred to Company H the same day.
He Resigned & Discharged for disability due to partial loss of hearing on the 24th of February 1863 in Newport News Va.
He was described as being "Honest, Jolly, Free hearted, Plump, Rosy ...".
His Last Reported Residence was Detroit Mich..
He was laid to rest in the Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit Michigan.
