George H. Freeman enlisted in Battle Creek on the 10th of May 1861. He indicated his home as being the same.
He was 24 when he enlisted as a Sgt. in Company "C" 2nd Michigan Infantry.
He was promoted to 2nd Lt. on the 22nd of September 1861.
He was promoted to 1st Lt. on the 4th of December 1861.
He was Transfered on the 12th of February 1864 from Company C to Company A.
He was again promoted to Acting Assistant Adj. General Artillery Brigade 11th Corps.
He was Discharged Honorably on the 25th of May 1864 in Detroit at the end of his enlistment.
