Muster notes show he was absent, illness in hospital at Ft. Monroe March-August 62.
A note of May 63 says he is present on muster but was supposed to have been discharged.
He is mentioned for bravery at Spottsyvlana CH, North Anna River--in the battle May 12, 1864.
He was discharged at the expiration of term of service in 1863.
In September 1864 muster notes say detained in Invalid Corps, Judiciary Square, Washington DC.
