He was residing in Fort Wayne and was 30 years old when he enlisted.
He was promoted to Asst Surgeon on the 8th of August 1862.
He was Discharged for promotion on the 23rd of October 1862.
He was promoted to 1st Lt. on the 30th of July 1864 (Also Asst Surgeon US Army).
He was promoted to Surgeon on the 1st September 1864.
He retired, 12/07/95, as Surgeon's of Soldiers' Home in Va.
In the Bentley Historical Library, University of Michigan. Dept. of Medicine and Surgery, Collection there is... thesis is titled "The Duties of the Surgeon in Action" (1864). A page with it on it is linked below.
