These names appear on the Roster but it does not state which Company they belonged to.
Most of the time it is stated that they transferred from the 2nd Michigan Infantry to other units.
There is one Special Name at the end. I believe that soldier was temporarily attached to the 2nd Mich. Inf. while is unit was on Furlough.

Falsely Marked as 2nd Infantry
Soldier with Information that indicate they were part of the 2nd Michigan Infantry. It as since been proven they belonged to other regiments.
- Effinger, Matin
- According to the link below Effinger, Matin, enlisted in the Second Michigan Infantry in 1861, and was killed in the battle of Malvern Hill, Va., Jul 1, 1862. He actually enlisted in Co. H 16th Michigan Infantry. Page

- Grave in the Veteran's Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Kent Cty. Mi. indicates he was part of the 2nd Mich. Inf. He actually enlisted in Co. F 12th Michigan Infantry.
- Mottley, Frank, Rnk Sgt,
- 1890 Residence: Kingston MO. He appears on the Veterans List for Caldwell County, Missouri in 1890. There is a Frank Mottley/Motley in the 24th Kentucky Infantry. I believe this was a error and that he actually belonged to the KY Regiment. Page
