Below I am hoping to add all links pertaining to the Band.
Here is the interesting part folks. Untill I started working on this web page I had no idea the 2nd Michigan Volunteer Infantry had not 1 but 2 bands during the Civil War. The First was disbanded on August 12th 1862. On May 10th 1863 the Regiment received the Second One.
To try to reconstruct the history or the Nominal Roll for the band will be very hard as many soldiers grave only say the Regiment and I have not seen any mention of the Bands until I picked up "For Country,Cause and Leader" edited by Stephen W. Sears which are the Journal of Charles B.Hayden.
I will need your help on this one in a major way. If you have any information on the Band and/or have relatives in the 2nd Michigan Volunteer Infantry that were Band members please contact me. I am mostly looking at the Unnassigned men because that is where Band Members would usually show up on the rolls but some might have become Infantry when the First Band was disbanded.
