Blossoming in The Drought

~~~~~~~~~~
"a cluster of henna blossoms from the vineyards of En Gedi" - SOS 1:14
I did some cross-checking and discovered that En Gedis is an oasis watered by a spring, located on the west side of the Dead Sea. So the shrub, henna, is nurtured by a spring and so blossoms despite the dry land all about it.
I see here a graphic picture of a victorious Christian  - the ability to blossom in the midst of drought because he has a source that is not dependant on his environment or circumstances. He has joy in the midst of troubles, peace in the storm, rest in the midst of uncertainity, provisions that are supernatural, praise and worship in the furnance of life. This is the abundant life. This is what I want to be.
Now compare this to the picture we are given in Isaiah 8:21 "Distressed and hungry, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God. Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness"
This is the picture of the grumbler and complainer. He too finds himself in the midst of drought. But he looks up not to pray or draw strength from above. Rather he looks up to speak against God and his leaders. Yet when he looks down again at his situation, he sees that it is still "only distress and darkness and fearful gloom". Blaming men and God has never helped things get better. Grumbling and complaining only makes things worse. If you do not believe me ask the Isrealites that came out of Egypt with Moses why they didn't enter the promised land.
