CHIM'S BIO From Adopt-A-Mission Missionary Bios

98002-01 Chimezie & Ibidun Onyebilanma
Children: Adaonu Iyinoluwa Onyebilanma
Country of Origin: Nigeria
Country Called to Minister to: Togo
Church Affiliation: Yaba Foursquare Gospel Church; Nigeria
Objectives & Goals: (1) To raise more Togolese missionaries for the unreached peoples of Togo. (2) To coordinate our crusade to indigenous churches planted among the unreached peoples. Our goal for the end of 1999 is to initiate church planting in at least 2 of the tribes we minister to. (3) We would like to raise 10 new missionaries to be sent for our cross-cultural missionary training. (4) To raise 10 new prayer cells focused on praying for the unreached.

We arrived in Togo a few weeks ago, but prior to Togo, we worked among a tribe called the Gbagyis in the rural interiors of Kaduna, a state in Nigeria for about 2 years. Togo is a small country but it has many of unreached peoples in the central and northern regions of the country.

We are a part of the ministry of Calvary Ministries or the Mission Evangelique du Calvaire as it is known in French. Calvary Ministries is a missions agency dedicated to taking the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the remaining tribes of people still without it. We seek to evangelize and plant indigenous churches among these peoples and our focus is on the tribes within the 10/40 windows in Africa, particularly among the Muslims. Calvary Ministries does this by recruiting, training and sending missionaries among these peoples. We start by doing research to know the state of the evangelization of the different tribes in a particular country.

Presently, 11 tribes in Togo have been researched while research into others is underway. We then use this information to mobilize missionaries to enable them to enter these unreached tribes and begin evangelization until we see an indigenous church planted. After we have raised up indigenous leadership, we hand over the church to them and move on. None of the Calvary Ministries staff members are paid a salary or any allowance. We all depend on God through His people to meet our needs.

Please remember to pray for us as we continue our work to the people of Togo.
