LET US GO ON AND ACHIEVE HIS DESTINY FOR OUR LIVES

"And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin .. let us draw near to God ...let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, ..(and) let us not give up." Hebrews 10: 18ff

We cannot make any meaningful spiritual progress if we are dragged down by guilt. We must not only be able to ask for forgiveness of sin but be able to accept it. We need to know that where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin. We don't need to present the sacrifice of correct works before we can be fully forgiven.

Rather God, after forgiving and cleansing us always calls us to come on and go on. To go on higher, to become all he has called us to be. " ..since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body " (v.19-20). God calls us to lay aside the past and enter into the new way opened up for us. To begin again. To attempt great things. We need to go on with confidence leaving behind our failures and entering into these doors he has opened for us. The blood has washed us and given us grace. Let us go on and achieve his destiny for our lives.

Finally "let us not give up... " (v.25). God has planted somethings in our hearts - an idea, a dream, a call, a burden, a possibility. We must not give up. Not on ourselves because we have failed, not on others because we are discouraged, not on God because he seems to be delaying, and not on the vision or the promise because it is looking more and more like a pipe-dream.

We must not give up because if we do we will soon begin to live anyhow. A man who loses his vision will live a purposeless life. Vision is the fuel of purposeful living. But if we keep on preserving then we will reap the promise. We will see the vision materialise in Jesus' Name.
