Our vision, burden and mission is to see the remaining unreached ethnic
groups in Togo and in the francophone African sub-region reached with the
Gospel of Jesus.
By unreached we mean those tribes or groups of people among which there
is such a small percentage of believers such that they are unable to complete
the task of evangelising their people if left without outside help. Think of
the Anufos with only 2% Christians and over 70% of all their villages with no
single witness. Or the Tchambas with hardly any known believer. This are the
unreached peoples.
It does not matter to us how difficult the task
may be, we are determined to see that all the nations would bring worship to
our King. Like Paul, we are ready to joyfully go through perils, hard-labours,
fasting, sufferings, weariness and inconveniences if only we can bring
salvation to the Gentiles.
We carry a burden for all unreached peoples
whether they be in the interior remote areas or in big towns. We are burdened
for the Tarbermawas who are mostly animist living in very interior villages.
And we are disturbed about the thousands of Zarmas Muslims that are found in
Lome, the capital city of Togo. Our heart cries out for light to come to the
thousands of Kotokoli muslims in darkness. And we are just as well burdened for
the countless number of poverty-ridden street children in our big towns.
We do not go to where others have already gone.
Nor among tribes that already have enough believers among them to complete the
work (like the Ewe in the south of Togo). Rather like Paul “It has always been
(our) ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that (we)
would not be building on someone else's foundation.” Our heart-cry is found in
Ps. 67:3 “May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you.”.
It is this heart-cry that gives birth to all we
do. Whether it is the work of research - to throw light on where the remaining
task is. Or in mobilization - to raise more of God’s people for the harvest.
Our focus always remains one thing – to reach the remaining unreached peoples.
Whether we are starting missions prayer cells, or digging wells for needy
villages, we have only one burden – to see the nations praise Him. The
salvation of the unreached determines the relevance and importance of every
plan or project we undertake.
Our number one weapon in winning the nations is
for our LIVES TO REFLECT JESUS. We cannot give what we do not have. We know it
is possible to do a lot of activities and yet be making only noise. We want to
see a deep work of God done among the nations, so we strive always to open up
our lives for God to do a deep work in us first. Yet we do not claim to be a
group of perfect people. Rather we want to always be a group whose first and
greatest passion and love is Jesus. We want to love Jesus more than his work.
We want to be ever growing to become more and more like Jesus. This is our
number one weapon in this great task among the nations.
“Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we
have received mercy, we faint not; But
have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor
handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth
commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.”
Our strategy is not just to go for a weekend
outreach and come back . Rather we go to live and labour among these nations
until Christ be formed in them and an indigenous church movement is raised that
would be able to go on and complete the task among that tribe.
We do not assume that any one group can finish
this great task alone. So we make it a priority to network with all other
groups with the same burden. We believe that the missionary task is primarily
the responsibility of the local churches, so we seek to work with all churches
so that through our partnership we can face the challenge of reaching the
remaining unreached peoples in Togo and beyond.
We have all counted the cost of this call and
we know we will only succeed if we are willing to spend and be spent for these
lost ones. So we are ready to pay the price no matter the cost. We are ready to
suffer so as to see that our King Jesus is crowned Lord in all these nations.
Our God has promised to supply all our needs
according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus. His promise is our bank
account. So we are satisfied to be members of a team like this where no one
receives any salary. We are convinced
that “God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply”. We rely on
our God whose reign we seek to move men to meet our needs. We will give God’s
people the opportunity of fulfilling their responsibility in this task by
informing them of our needs. But we shall never beg or manipulate any man. We
are determined to depend on God and God alone for our every needs – both for
our lives and ministries.
We are not interested in fame nor do we care
for men’s recognition. We want to fulfil God’s call on our lives despite the
ridicule of men. We know that there is honour that comes from God to those that
honour him. And we are prepared to wait for that.
This is our heart-cry. This is where we stand.
We have no other passion . And we would not allow anything to distract us. We
welcome all who share our passion to join us for the task is great and we need
more hands. But if you cannot identify with our passion , please do not
distract us by joining us. We know that ours may be a mighty and difficult task
but we also know that he who has commissioned us is the Almighty God. And so we are sure that we will
definitely succeed. NOTHING CAN STOP US!
