She was some mother's daughter,
He was some mother's son.
They were just out having fun.
They borrowed a car, now on the run!
Two hearts are heavy, carrying a load.
Two mothers are watching down the road,
Hoping to see their wandering child
Who once were innocent, meek and mild!
Their innocent joy turned to sorrow
When they, that night, a car did borrow.
Now they are busy ducking and hiding,
Their time, they are now biding!
Now this seemingly simple joy ride
Has cost them their freedom and pride.
They have learned to their sorrow
Another's property not to borrow.
