Once there was an old lady who used an eye-cup
That was the first thing she did when she got up,
then she took a bath and combed her hair.
She always had trouble deciding what to wear.
Then she made her bed and cleaned the house,
Not to disturb her husband, she was quiet as a mouse.
By the time her husband was up, she had breakfast on the table.
To lend a helping hand, she was always ready, willing and able.
She was always around to lend an ear.
Never did she repeat the things she did hear.
To those without, she would be a friend,
Never too busy, a helping hand to lend!
She always had time for children in her neighborhood,
Whether they were bad or whether they were good.
People always came to her for advice,
If you listened to her, you didn't have to think twice.
