FROM WHISPERS OF COMFORT
(Quotations included from Ray Prinzing’s book, WHISPERS OF COMFORT)

I am finding in my heart a deep desire to share with others from the comforts in writing that Barb and I are receiving from the LIVING WORDS shared by Ray Prinzing.  When Barb cleaned house she found 3 of his books; one is a daily devotional that we had been spiritually nourished by in the 80’s and that we are now being nourished by once again.  We all need as much spiritual nourishment as the Lord will provide for us through others in the body of Christ.  And God has opened this avenue up to us once again.

Ray Prinzing’s comforts are all from the WORD, which he writes into his messages to us.  It is like the WORD flows through his messages into our hearts from his experiences and revelations from God with a never-ending flow.  If you do not mind my doing this, I desire to share from his (out of print) book DAILY OVERCOMING DEVOTIONALS.  I will begin with today’s devotional and add tomorrows and the next days for a start.  Because it is out of print, and because the book Barb found is literally falling apart, I am putting it on the computer – a few days at a time.  Please let me know if you want me to continue them for you.  And please feel free to pass them on to others.  Ray would be in favor of you doing this if you know someone that would receive it with a grateful heart.

Ray has informed us that he is very sorry but his books are out of print.  So, Barb and I are reading his books she found and LETTERS OF TRUTH (back issues) that he recently sent us by mail. Of the books we received years ago, I am presently reading his book WHISPERS OF COMFORT.  It is giving me spiritual comfort from our COMFORTER, the Holy Spirit of God.  Please, may I quote from a few pages between p. 20 - 40?

QUOTE:

Dare we look at every situation, which comes into our lives, regardless of the amount of heartache included, and even while our eyes flow with tears, our spirit within can cry out, ‘BUT GOD MEANS IT FOR GOOD’?  So we stand upon that truth in our spirit, until we come through the testing, and into that morning after when we can fully praise Him for all things.

Now obviously no chastening seems pleasant at the time: it is in fact most unpleasant.  Yet when it is all over we can see that it has quietly produced the fruit of real goodness in the character of those who have accepted it in the right spirit.  So tighten your loosening grip and steady your wavering hand.  Don’t wander away from the path but forge steadily onward.  On the right path the limping foot recovers strength and does not collapse,” (Hebrews 12:11-13, Phillips).

It is true, betimes we go ‘limping’ on our way, weeping, burdened with sorrows, but as long as we stay ‘ON THE RIGHT PATH’ keeping our eyes single unto our God, and believing in the Word which He has given, we find that our walk is strengthened, and we do not collapse, but eventually we are once again able to say with the Psalmist, “For by Thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall,” Ps. 18:19).  For “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; - they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint,” (Isaiah 40:31).

It has been well stated, “The very struggles which all animated beings make against pain and death, show that pain and death are not a part of the proper laws of their nature, but rather a bondage imposed upon them from without.  Thus every tear and groan is an unconscious prophecy of liberation from the power of evil,” (Conybeare).

If pain and death were the proper laws of man’s nature, there would be no struggle against them; you would accept them as being normal and right.  But because they are a bondage imposed upon man, your whole being cries out against them, seeks to overcome them, and to be free from them.  Thus the very FACT of our struggle becomes prophetic that there will be a day of release – there will be a morning after.  As in the verse by Charles H. Pridgeon:

“There’s a golden goal that the ages wait,
When our Lord shall complete His reign,
When the precious blood shall at last prevail
To remove all creation’s stain:
Then the universe shall be made anew,
Fairer far than before the fall;
When the Son puts all in the Father’s hand,
And our God shall be all in all.”

It becomes a promise and a source of real encouragement, to know that “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning,” (Psalm 30:5).  Berkeley Translation: “At eventide weeping may come in to lodge for the night, but with the morning, SHOUTS OF JOY.”

Ah, yes often it seems that weeping moves right in to spend the night with you, an uninvited, unwelcome guest.  The Psalmist knew this well, as he mingled his tears with his drink.  And when he finally crawled off to bed, he found that weeping crawled right into bed with him.  It was a long night. It was painful, but it also ‘CAME TO PASS’.  And come the morning, with the dawning of the new day, there were SHOUTS OF JOY, triumphant proclamations of victory.  Psalm 147:1-3, “Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.  The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: He gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.  HE HEALETH THE BROKEN IN HEART, and bindeth up their wounds.”

“Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows.  The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, (Isaiah 53:4-5).  This word ‘chastisement’ could literally be given as ‘instruction’: ‘THE (INSTRUCTION) OF OUR PEACE WAS UPON HIM.’  The method thereto, the way of arriving at it, the out-working of the process that would lead into our peace, was all placed upon Him.  And beloved friend, when HE came through it all victoriously.  He not only blazed out the trail for our peace, but He became that LIVING WAY, for HE IS OUR PEACE.  “He learned obedience by the things which He suffered,” and He endured every type of instruction necessary for the procurement of our peace.  Full well He knew the path of heartache, and declared, “My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death,”  (Mat. 26:38).  More than once it was stated of Him, ‘He groaned in the spirit, and was troubled’.  And the shortest verse of scripture in the whole Bible simply states, “Jesus wept,” (John 11:35).

Perhaps the greatest agony and heartache of all that He experienced was during His time of travail in the garden of Gethsemane, when, “Being in an agony He prayed more earnestly: and His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground,” (Luke 22:44). Significant to note that the word ‘drops’ comes from th Greek word ‘thrombos’ meaning: a coagulation, the formation of a clot of blood.  Were one of these clots to have passed through His heart, it would produce a heart attack right there.  But this was an agony so intense that rather than breaking out in a ‘cold sweat, as the expression goes, His very life’s blood oozed out and formed into blood clots which fell to the ground.  Later on the writer to the Hebrews would challenge us to “CONSIDER HIM that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood,” (Hebrews 12:3-4).  Ah, He knew the depths of agony which brought forth such wrenching of soul, that even the blood vessels in His body could not take the strain, and thy burst and oozed out through His skin.  We say this, not to be dramatic, but to point out that HE KNOWS THE EXTREME of all heartache, and the instruction of our peace was upon Him, and HE blazed a trail through all sorrow, and into that glorious morning after, when there are SHOUTS OF JOY, triumphant proclamations of victory, victory that endures.

“And BEING MADE PERFECT”, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto them that obey Him,” (Hebrews 5:9).  Now He has entered into a new dimension, NOW HE IS AN AUTHOR, A SOURCE!  While “The first Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made (became) A QUICKENING SPIRIT,” (I Corinthians 15:45).  He is a LIFE-GIVER!

It is also written, “If we suffer, we shall also REIGN with Him,” (II Timothy 2:12.  And methings we scarcely yet can begin to dream of what this means to ‘reign with Him’.  But there is a dawning consciousness in our spirit that we are called to go beyond just being ‘sons’ and to enter into the realm of fatherhood, to where out of our innermost being shall flow quickening streams of life.  A realm where we shall be able to impart, because as ONE IN HIM, WITH Him we become ‘an author’, a life-giving force.  “For out of Zion SHALL GO FORTH THE LAW, AND THE WORD OF THE Lord from Jerusalem,” (Isaiah 2:3).”

[I, Tammy, am injecting a word here to explain that ‘the overcoming sons of God – are ‘Zion’, and that ‘Jerusalem – is the new Jerusalem’ which is the ‘corporate body of Christ, Christ being the Head – coming with Him in glory’.  The manifestation of this is the manifestation of the sons of God upon the earth – Christ in His corporate many membered body.  And this will occur in the heavenly realm that we will be walking in.  We will be walking on earth as Jesus walked, I John 2:6, “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked”; and Christ who is our Head, will be living His life in and through us to minister to the hungry dying people of the world.  This will be the manifestation of God to all creation through the sons of God (the body of Christ in His many membered body), who will manifest Christ in us the hope of glory, to the whole world, Colossians 1:27.  There will be a transformation in the heavenly realm that those outside of the Kingdom of God will not be aware of.  Many Christians will not be aware of what has taken place because they have not found the Kingdom of God within them for they are still bound in the doctrines and traditions of the present church system.  Most of the body of Christ you will find hiding away IN God somewhere, sharing with those who have ears to hear and eyes to see what the Spirit of God is saying to His Church, today. But when the processing of God is completed in us and we are perfectly refined into the image of God, with only His nature in us – the very essence of Christ Himself emanating from our being, we will be the manifestation of the sons of God in this earth…THE NEW JERUSALEM COMING IN HIS GLORY.]

Continuing quote from Ray Prinzing:”OUT OF ZION shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem”.  That means what they possess on the inside will be released so that they become authors of a LIVING MESSAGE of divine reality.  That is the morning after our heartache and travail.  It takes a while to be ‘made perfect’.  It takes some deep processing’s to be made perfect.  For it requires deep purgings to bring us to the end of ourselves, and into a place of absolute surrender to Him.  It is amazing the extent of the human resources within.  Just about the time you think you are so depleted you cannot walk on another step, and about ready to give up to Him in total submission, SELF dredges up a little more of it’s ‘will’ and grits it’s teeth, to declare, ‘I WILL GO ON, and have it my way’.  Out of that inner resource of self, we set our will again and again and again.  But HE steadily works on, and brings us to the end of all this will of man, till we are fully and completely merged into one with His will, praise God.  “For though He was crucified through weakness, yet He liveth by the power of God.  For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God,” (II Corinthians 13:4).  Out of our NOTHINGNESS, and INTO HIS FULNESS.  To become a part of that corporate body that shares the joy of being IN HIM a fountain of life freely flowing to bless all of mankind.  “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.  To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified,” (Isaiah 61:1-3).

Thank God, there shall be deliverance and victory for ‘the spirit of heaviness’.  The Hebrew word here for ‘heaviness’ is ‘kehah’ meaning: weakness, and figuratively, to despond, grow dull.  Here is that nameless malady of the poor, that mysterious disease of the rich – the world’s DEPRESSION, dull, monotony.  It is everywhere!  The rich might have every physical need met, and resources at hand to do anything they desire to do, until they are, as the expression goes, ‘bored to tears’.  The poor struggle to exist, and grow weary with the hopelessness of their struggle until they become depressed with the monotony of their empty, struggling days.  The whole world lies under a spirit of heaviness.  But it is written, He was sent to proclaim liberty to the captives. ‘LIBERTY’ – to be loosed from the fetters that bind, to be able to stop sinning; to be loosed from the prison of our passions; to be able to shake off the fetters of the past with all its guilt and condemnation.

Now, He said, in the healing of the brokenhearted, it would be necessary to proclaim two things,

1) “To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord”
2) “To proclaim the day of vengeance of our God”

‘Acceptable’ – or literally ‘THE RECEIVABLE’.  “Behold, now is the accepted (receivable) time: behold, now is the day of salvation,” (II Corinthians 6:2).  What joy we have in proclaiming that NOW, TODAY, is the receivable time.  NOW we can open our hearts, and find that HE enters with forgiveness, joy, peace, love, etc.  “If any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me,” Revelations 3:20).  And, praise God, “As many as received Him, to them gave He power (the right, privilege) to become the sons of God, to them that believe on His name,” (John 1:12).

One rejoices in the knowledge that there is a RECEIVABLE TIME, and it is NOW, but there is ‘part two’ in this proclamation which is very essential, it is “AND the day of vengeance of our God”.  For it is this latter part that is necessary to make all of the foregoing possible.  The healing of the brokenhearted, the comforting of all that mourn, the deliverance of the captives, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness – all of this will be the result because of HIS CORRECTIONS WHICH BRING US TO RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Do remember, ‘the wrath of God against all disobedience’ is literally ‘THE ENERGY FORCES OF GOD SET IN MOTION TO ESTABLISH RIGHTEOUSNESS’.  Whatever part the negative plays, in its vengeance, and the chastenings, the tearing down to rebuild, the end result is one of glorious victory, and is totally positive.

The ‘Day of vengeance’ bespeaks a time, a glorious ministry, when HE will give life to that which is dying, give strength to that which is weak, give hope to that which has no hope, to change the whole degenerative course of man, and usher in the times of restoration of all things.  There can never be the day of REGENERATION without the day of vengeance of our God.

It is true, God will administer whatever corrections are necessary to put a bend in our road, but we insist, beloved friend, every part of this processing is for our profit – and for the world’s profit…The prophet Isaiah waxed eloquent under the flow of the Spirit to speak of the day when the kingdom of the Lord would be established in the earth, and said, “In this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto ALL PEOPLE a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined,.  And He will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over ALL PEOPLE, and the veil that is spread over ALL NATIONS.  He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off ALL FACES; and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.  And it shall be said in that day, Lo, This is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation,” (Isaiah 25:6-9).

Here is the morning after the universal heartache.  When His kingdom is established in the earth and He spreads forth a feast for ALL PEOPLE.  Even as it is written in another place, “I am sought of them that asked not for Me; I am found of them that sought Me not: I said, Behold Me, behold Me, unto a nation that was not called by My name,” (Is. 65:1).  And again, he speaks of “a dew from the Lord, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men,” (Micah 5:7).  They don’t even know how to ask for Him, He just comes to them, prepares the feast, and bestows of His love and grace upon mankind.  Come to the feast!  Who?  The poor, the weak, the maimed, the halt, the blind – let them all share of His mercies.  This is the plan of God as declared in His Word.  This is the outflow of His kingdom life and victory….Ah, we view on the horizon that there will be the dawning of a new day, filled with life and light and deliverance.

Though we have gone through the heartache, we have experienced the tears and the sorrow, and we are able to cry with those who cry, we also can say with Paul, ‘Blessed be God, even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies, and the GOD OF ALL COMFORT; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.  For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolations also aboundeth by Christ,” (II Corinthians 1:3-5.

What a marvelous ministry to be able to COMFORT others with this same deep consolation, which we have received from our Father.  Out of the deep travail and heartache will come a compassion, which the world has not known or seen, save as we have beheld it in our Lord Himself.  It will be revealed in the morning after.

Jesus took the book of Isaiah which was handed Him, “And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” (Luke 4:17-18).

The Greek word for ‘brokenhearted’ literally means ‘to be BRUISED in heart’.  There are deep inner bruises, which the world can cause, but cannot heal, which He shall heal completely.  And it also speaks of setting at liberty them that are bruised, and here the Greek word literally means, to be CRUSHED.  This is a different aspect of bruising, to where it becomes a deep internal crushing, but it matters not the severity and the magnitude, HE HEALS IT ALL.

But it is this word ‘deliverance to the captives’ which brings a shout within, coming from the Greek word ‘aphesis’ meaning: A SENDING AWAY.  This is a true LIBERTY.  When He comes on the scene He gathers up all of the bruises and distresses and sends them all away, leaving you refreshed and renewed, made whole again.  This would include a forgetting of all that causes it, for He sends it all away, both cause and effect, to make ALL THINGS NEW.  Former things will be passed away, and ‘the place thereof shall know it no more’.  It will be filled with His new life, joy, and peace.

“God will wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away… Behold, I make all things new.  And He said unto me, Write, for these words are true and faithful,” Revelation 21:4-5).  There is a realm beyond heartache.  We do not deny the heartache, full well we have experienced its desolation, but we know there shall be a morning after, filled with His joy.  Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasured for ever-more.”
(Psalm 16:11)

(And skipping over to p. 40)…The more one views the very darkness of the world, in both the national and local conditions of our times, with all the negative disturbances, the inroads of evil which have penetrated every avenue of our society, and then to wonder, what can we do? How can we be involved to help bring some positive light into the scheme of things, we are reminded again that, desperate as the situation might appear to be, “MY FATHER IS GREATER THAN ALL.”  Furthermore, HE IS “the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning,” (James 1:17).

We yearn for a light, and we grope our way through the gloom until suddenly it seems there is a new ray of light upon the horizon.  A firebrand blazes away for a time, we grasp on to his message, and we try to stay in the glow, but soon it all goes into an eclipse, and we are left in the shadows again.  We look to man, and receive only what man can give.  Thus the disappointments have piled up through the years until we are staggered by them all – except, praise God, in His mercy He draws us to Himself, and we find the reality of the fact that HE IS THE FATHER OF LIGHTS.  My Father is greater then all!  No wonder the prophet declared, “Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of His servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light?  Let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God,” (Isaiah 50:10).  This we also read, in Micah 7:8, “When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”  He is the Father of Lights, and better to remain in darkness, leaning hard upon the Lord, and wait until HE gives the light, than to try and kindle your own light.

I’m sick of life, I can’t go on,
I hear the wail, the bitter song.

My tears are mingled with my drink,
My mind’s benumbed, I cannot think.

The gloom, despair, the aching heart,
So oft’ it seems we share a part.

It came to pass, the Word declares,
Though I’m so often unawares,

The tide flow in, the tide flows out,
The ceaseless surging ‘round about.

And I am caught betwixt the two,
To come – to go – what shall I do?

It pleased the Lord to bruise me so,
Till full submission I would know.

He has a plan that nought can stay,
When all the clouds will roll away.

The dark of night be passed and gone,
The morning break with victor’s song.

This hope keeps shining through my tears,
To quiet all my doubts and fears.

The morning after is secure,
His love and mercy shall endure.

And He shall wipe all tears away,
Heartache no more in His new day.

Lo, He’s our God, for Him we wait,
He’s never early, never late.

The promise giv’n is sure and true,
For as He maketh all things new.

END OF QUOTE from Ray Prinzing’s book, WHISPERS OF HIS COMFORT.

I pray the anointed words of comfort God has given us through our brother in Christ will be of great comfort to you all.  I love you so very much in Christ.  I love to communicate with you.  We need to communicate to one another the revelations given to us by God so that the whole body everywhere can be comforted in hearing a word of confirmation to strengthen and comfort us.
