The Fantasy Basketball Team For The 2002-2003 NBA Season
|
|
Sam Cassell
My starting point guard from the Milwaukee Bucks.
A provden veteran and clutch performer. One of my highest picks
in the draft. Too bad fantasy statistics don't show what he
really brings to the team. |

Gilbert
Arenas
He came from out of nowhere to be one of the
stand out players this NBA season for the Golden State Warriors.
The same goes for my fantasy basketball roster. I don't even
remember how I got this guy on my team but I'm glad he's a part
of it. He can start as my shooting guard any time he wants to. |

Glenn
Robinson
The Big Dog, my starting small forward, can sometimes
be streaky but he can also put up numbers in bunches. Definitely
has a shoot first pass second mentality but who can complain
if his shots are going in? Another one of my higher picks in
the draft. |

Chris
Webber
Webber was my highest pick in this year's fantasy
draft. He does it all when he plays. He scores points, grabs
rebounds, gets assists, and even gets blocks. Unfortunately
he misses more games than I would like for him to, but it seems
to be a fair trade off especially when you consider the fact
that Webber ranks in the top twenty of the NBA in twelve different
categories this season including being ranked second in triple
doubles. |

Yao Ming
Is this guy's name Yao Ming or Ming Yao? Anyway,
he definitely surprised the heck out of me (and probably 99%
of the NBA). I thought he was going to be an even bigger bust
than Shawn Bradley and Bryant Reeves combined. Who would have
thought that Yao could actually compete amongst the big boys
in the NBA. He wasn't my original draft choice at center. In
fact, I didn't even draft him at all. I picked him up as a free
agent just for fun. |

Grant
Hill
A trio of forwards were supposed to lead my NBA
fantasy team to the league title but alas, one of them is not
in great shape. Only if Grant Hill could return to the way he
was in his glory days with the Detroit Pistons. Back then he
didn't have the moves that Kobe Bryant or Tracy McGrady had
but he had a vicious streak in him that told him to attack the
basket at all costs. |

Kurt Thomas
In the world of the NBA Kurt Thomas is a better
than average big man. In the world of fantasy basketball a player
like Kurt Thomas or Brian Grant will give you the solid statistics
you need to round out your team. |

Kerry
Kittles
Not a bad pick up at guard. Kittles was supposed
to be my starting guard but ended up being the third guard in
my rotation due the surprising efforts of Gilbert Arenas. Still,
Kittles has experience and will put up the statistics given
that he's healthy and he's got ample playing time. |

Vladimir
Radmanovic
So he doesn't shoot that high of a percentage
and he could also shoot a better free throw percentage. That
still didn't stop me from picking up this guy. When he's playing,
he could explode for 15 to 20 points on a given night...that
is if he's playing. Sometimes he can play for 35 minutes in
one game and the next game he would play 10 minutes. When he
does play though he will pick up points. |

Keon Clark
Being a UNLV graduate I had to have at least
one former UNLV player on my team. Unfortunately Shawn Marion
wasn't available so I had to go with the second best former
UNLV player out there. While his game may not be pretty, he
at least gets you some stats without turning the ball over too
much. |

Troy Murphy
Like teammate Gilbert Arenas, I have no idea
where this guy came from. All I know is he's a Golden State
Warrior who puts up decent statistics. What's even funnier is
at one point I had three Golden State Warriors on my team (none
of which was Antawn Jamison). Murphy is a solid backup contributor.
Get him on your team is you need a quality sub. |

Eric Snow
He may not put up Allen Iverson numbers but he
doesn't put up Courtney Alexander numbers either. He's consistent
and does what he does within the 76ers team concept. He does
the same for my fantasy team. |
