2 - sheets of 1/2" fir plywood G2S
1x2 pine
1x4 pine
pine doorstop trim
glue and finishing nails
2 - wire cage fronts
1/4" and 3/8" hardwood doweling
The construction of all these box cages in principle start out
the same, a 12 mm plywood 5 sided box with a 1x2 pine frame
front to hold the wire cage front. A drawer, again made of
12 mm plywood, has pine doorstop installed to create the sides
and back and a 1x4 pine strip for the front. The other projects
are variations of this same concept but make more efficient use
of materials by sharing the dividing components. Dimensions can
be modified to suit the requirements of the breeder and the
species of bird kept.
