Spindasis lohita senama (Long-banded Silverline)
The Long-banded SilverlineThe Long-banded Silverline is rather rare in Singapore, usually seen in the mid-morning hours on flowering plants.  A favourite is the Mile-a-Minute (Mikania micrantha) flowers.  The striking underside of this butterfly comprise five or six silver lines broadly edged with dark red on a pale yellow background.  The species has two pairs of white-tipped tails and an orange tornal area on the hindwings.
The caterpillar of this species is known to feed on, amongst other plants, the Guava (Psidium guayava).
