The
Banded Yeoman is rather rare in Singapore, and has only been encountered
on a few occasions in recent years. Most of the time, the butterfly
has been observed at flowering trees in the nature reserves. Although
a relatively common butterfly in nearby Johor, the species is not as often
seen in Singapore. In flight, the Banded Yeoman can be mistaken for
the Rustic (Cupha erymanthis lotis), which is the commoner of the
two species in Singapore.
The wings are dark brown with
a broad yellow band on the forewing. The undersides are much paler.
The life history is unknown. |
