Heroes for Hire 7 Review |
Iron Fist must have read my review of issue 7. I like Heroes for Hire...I love Iron Fist, White Tiger, Cage, Ant man, Black Knight and Sersi. The art work I found kind of jolting, but I could have lived with that if the story was better...first the story jumped everywhere, next the Tbolt characters weren't treated in a proper way, IMO. This story comes across as a childish immature meeting of two teams whose characters are certainly more mature than the cheap shot type stuff found in the book. the conclusion is absurd,it is like they ran out of pages and said, okay fight over in the quickest way you could...please!!! Sure comics are fantasy based, but...Anyway here is a bit of a plot summary... |
The book begins with H4H battling in Lemuria. White Tiger drops a bombshell that she is intimately connected to the High Evolutionary. Dane and Sersi talk about renewing their "special" Gann Josin bond from their Avengers days...Dane is too overwhelmed by recent events to decide... then she teleports them back to the spaceship where an urgent message from Jim Hammond is waiting telling Iron Fist that the Super Adaptoid that they were housing at Oracle is loose...he has used Antman's daughters mind to kick start his systems, her mind is in the Super Adaptoid. It will take time for H4H to get back to earth so Jim is intructed to get someone to contain S.A. until they return... Jim contacts the Tbolts and talks things over with Citizen V.Techno is to download Oracle's info on S.A.,much to Jim's hesitation, meanwhile Atlas takes a slug at S.A. Citizen V then calls him a dolt, again this is just out of place(not Zemo's chracter...but Citizen V's Zemo would never make a slip like that... it is a writers slip...anyway...) We now find out S.A. has abosrbed Cassies body also...Fun and games... |
Zemo considers taking the "kid out" to shut down the Super Adaptoid, Karla questions the wisdom of that and we see her thinking that Zemo must have something in mind to seemingly jeapordize their mission...at least the writers got this part of characterization right!.Then the H4H arrive and the two teams take on the Adaptoid. Cage takes a cheap "dork" shot at Atlas's old identity"...I once battled a dork over the powerman man...". It really took away from the story, made it seem like a bunch of immature teens bickering on a school ground... too bad... |
They figure out that that if they can get Scott(Antman) to try to convince his daughter to try to shut down Super Adaptoid she could be spared. Then Bang Cassies says,"I'm not scared anymore, say goodnight to everyone...poof, shut down". Citizen V then tells Iron Fist he is taking custody of S.A. since Oracle wasn't responsible enough...Again why would they get on the bad side of heroes... it just runs contrary to what Tbolts 1-12 was about...sigh...Citizen V is then shown gloating on National TV over his team "topping" H4H. Contrary to how he has been presented before. That is it in a nut shell. Too bad, lots of good potential, wasn't reached, want a good team up? See Marvel Team up 7 with Spiderman and the Tbolts! |
