| SpiderMan Team up 7 Review |
| Some where in Brooklyn a warehouse is robbed, during the bandits escape a shelf is toppled killing a guard. The prowler had a sleek form and was clinging to the wall, even though he kept to the shadows the remaining guard felt it was Spiderman gone bad. Peter reads the paper much to his disgust. The scene chages to Freedom Four...err Thunderbolt HQ during a training session of our favorite "bad guys turned good, but not really"! |
| During the session Songbird gets her wings clipped, but coming to the damsel in distress is Mach 1...Aww ain't new love sweet!. The session is interupted by their Mayoral liason asking the Tbolts to bring Spiderman in for questioning. |
| Abe is "slightly" jacked at the prospect of bringing in his old foe. Citizen V splits the group up to serach for our favorite webhead, he and Atlas take off, Meteorite and Techno together, and Mach 1 and Songbird. The scene changes to show the Enclave, a group of 3 renengade scientists(Seen last in FF 67) Thei new project is the Biomodem and they just need a few more components to make it work. They then send off a sleek android to find the last pieces they need... |
| Scene change and Mach 1 and Songbird have found Spidey. Just before that we see some great insight into Abe... he wants to nail Spidey bad...but he is totally convinced Spiderman is innocent... Mach 1 and Songbird pour it on and take the offensive against Spiderman. |
| Meanwhile Karla and Techno are checking the offices of the factory that was robbed...Karla muses over her personality profile of Spiderman...thinking he is a troubled, neurotic individual and delights in the opportunity to push some of his buttons. |
| Then from the shadows they see movement and attack, here it is the android from the Enclave. Meanwhile, Atlas encounters some female fans and starts being chatty... only to find out his giant size foot is blocking the road and JJ Jameson's car. Zemo talks to him and let's him know they are tracking Spiderman...the Tbolts suddenly aren't bad in old J.J's eyes, a well written, fun scene.Then back with Meteorite and that battle they end up losing the android...Zemo appraises the situation and realizes it was not Spidermans fault, he assembles the team and stops Mach 1 just as he is ready to finish off Spidey... They let Spidey go and fly off on the V wing. they realize it does their "cause" no good to arrest Spiderman falsely... |
| Peter Parker then does some diggiing into the situation back at the Bugle...Jonah starts selling Peter on how swell the Tbolts are...true heroes and the like...."If Jonah likes the Tbolts...there MUST be something wrong with them..." he muses. |
| Techno tracks the android and Spidey tracks Mach 1 using a spider tracer he planted on Mach 1 during the previous battle, they all meet atthe Enclave HQ and battle against them. The Bio modem is activated and all the Tbolts fall under it's mind control spell except for Mach 1 and Spidey, whose spider sense blocks it out and he gets Mach 1 to jam the signal in his suit...Then the two one time opponents are facing off against the Tbolts, now as a team!. Mach mocks Zemo and manages to snap the team out of the trance. Atlas them stomps the android into scrap. The Enclave escape magically clearing out the room with an omni retrieval device. All the evidence to clear Spiderman is gone...or is it? Techno had taped the whole thing...Mach 1 gets the disc and gives it to Spidey to clear his name. a truely noble and heroic thing to do. Afterwards, talking with Karla he shines as he says,"I gave him the disc because he DESERVED it...it was the right thing to do...the BEETLE could stab him in the back...but MACH 1 couldn't...this hero thing is...contagious... |

| If you only got one back issue, outside Tbolt appearance book, this is a must have. Karla isn't too significant in it, but it truly captures the spirit of the Tbolts, some of the other outside appearances didn't. the art was certainly acceptable, all the characters realistcally portrayed, awesome story..this is what the theory behind Tbolts is about....seeking redemption and Team up 7 did it! |
