A black bounty hunter active in the late 1890s, he went up against the Rawhide Kid and could have captured the Kid but did not; he was, if I remember correctly, a Civil War veteran of one sort or another who started bounty hunting to support himself. Before he met the Kid he was only out for himself, but his experience with the Kid saving a town of African-Americans helped turn him for the better.
