Yes, I roleplay. That is, I engage in mutual interactive imaginative gaming. Or, rather, I do when I have the chance to. In my part of Texas I haven't found a lot of people I want to roleplay with, and so I'm stuck to play-by-email, but I still get by doing a little, and I buy games when I can. Right now I'm grooving on Bruce Baugh and Andrew Bates' wonderful pulp game Adventure! and Dennis Detwiller and Greg Stolze's excellent Godlike.
My tastes run towards steampunk and pulp gaming, so the preponderance of links here will deal with those two genres, but occasionally something else might sneak by.
* Adventure
Gaming in a Gentler Time Perhaps the best site out there on Victorian
Science Fiction Gaming. Really, very well done all around.
Æther Traveler
The Æther Traveler is a good, not great, resource for Victorian/steampunk
gaming. Some good links, but it doesn't feel to me like it's updated that
much or, frankly, that much of a priority to the site owner.
Beyond
the Veil - 1920s Timeline This is for a live-action roleplaying game.
I don't have much patience with LARPing, but the information on the timeline
is handy.
* By Jingo!
"Being in the main a magazine dedicated to the military history, wargames,
and historical role playing of the Victorian and Edwardian Eras and encompassing
the age of imperialism, the British Empire, the Great War in Africa and
Asia, and the colonial adventuring of the Great Powers and the Americas."
Quite entertaining.
Castle
Falkenstein A good CF site.
Cloudships of Iron
A Victorian science fictional ship-to-ship wargame. They have potential
but seem to be hanging fire, which is a pity.
Daredevil
Knacks A variety of knacks for the wonderful White Wolf game Adventure!
Some of these are good, some aren't, and some are just plain Inspired.
Deadlands
Firearms List An excellent assemblage of information on firearms of
the Old West.
Fantasy Library A nice
all-around game site.
* Gamer Jargon A hilarious
and insightful listing of the jargon gamers use.
Gisby's
Links A good set of links (not updated since 1999, alas) to Victorian
and Colonial-era gaming.
Heliograph, Incorporated The
publisher of Space: 1889 and Forgotten Futures.
Jazz Age
Slang A great resource if you're going to do any roleplaying set in
the 1920s. (I do, with my Adventure! campaign, so it's handy for that.)
The Loyal Order of Chivalry and Sorcery
A C&S fan site! Good grief, the Web has everything!
* Major General
Tremorden Rederring's Colonial-era Wargames Page I think what I like
the most about this site dedicated to Victorian and Colonial-era gaming
is the sense of humor and the feeling of fun that it projects. Both are
things that ever game and gaming site should have but which seem, alas,
to be in all too short a supply.
New York City Subway
Historical Maps Very handy for roleplaying in NYC in previous eras.
The Old
Croton Aqueduct Trail A neat resource for roleplaying in a New York
City many players won't recognize.
Pictorial
Glossary of Armor Terms If you're playing any sort of fantasy game
involving armor, you'll want this site.
Places to Go, People to Be
An online magazine for roleplayers.
* Pyramid Magazine
Yes, it's a pay-only site, but you get excellent articles updated weekly,
and best of all you get the Suppressed Transmission essays by the sublime
Ken Hite, who is the best thing to happen to gaming--ever. So pay the money,
already!
Savage
and Soldier Online An entertaining and informative magazine for Victorian
and Colonial-era gaming. The site may be dead--no new articles since 2000--but
what's there is interesting.
Steampunk:
Brass and Iron RPG The home page for a steampunk game.
* Steampunk
Resources A keen list of resources for a steampunk game. By none other
than Phil Masters himself.
The Stuff Heroes Are Made
Of A reference site for the superhero rpg Champions, along with conversion
stats for Marvel & DC characters.
Terra Incognita The home page
for the very entertaining Victoriana game.
An
Unofficial Space: 1889 Web Site A site with Space: 1889 resources.
Victorian
Adventure Gaming A good site of resources for Victorian and Colonial-era
gaming.
Victorian Gamer The
home site of the sadly defunct free e-zine on Victorian Era gaming.
Victorian Space
Another site on Space: 1889, and another site which seems to be dead.
*
Violating
the Dead A really outstanding essay on the battle of Stalingrad, and
why Enemy at the Gates was such an insult to the war dead.
Voyages
Extraordinaires A good site on and for Victorian Adventure Gaming Rules.
The
War of the Worlds RPG A fun WotW game site.
Welcome to the Armory! The site
of a store that sells swords, which is of use if you want to know what
a falchion looks like in real life.

using miniatures.
