Captain Starr

First Appearance: Marines in Battle #1 (August 1954).
Appearances: Marines in Battle #1-25.
Years Active: 1941-1945.

Captain Starr, a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, leads Item Company during World War Two. He and they were active in North Africa, Europe, and the Pacific.

Like "Iron Mike" McGraw and the other Atlas soldier characters, Starr is resourceful, good with guns and his fists, etc etc. He also speaks Japanese--a big plus in the South Pacific. Starr is also brave; he is willing to take on a Japanese submarine with just one companion. (Naturally, he succeeds in taking the sub.)
