ENEMIES/RIVALS: Van, Prozen, Hiltz, whole GF, and anyone else that dares to cross his path BASICS Raven is the main baddy in the beginning. He is an incredible pilot, and during the whole chaotic century, he is the better pilot (yah!). He was relaxing on a haystack one day when he was suddenly disturbed by some commotion in the surrounding field. Some soldiers were chasing after Van and Fiona. Shadow beat the crap out of the soldiers and Van and Fiona thanked Raven, who took them to water. After a while, Raven introduced himself, insulted Van, fought Van, won, and they were enemies ever since. HISTORY Not too much is known about his family. In the manga, he has a twin brother who has the same Zian marking, only it’s flipped and on the other side. He has a long braid down his back and usually wears a little headband thing. Err … don’t know much more. Anyways, it appeared that his parents were Zoid researchers and were very busy. They apparently didn’t get to spend too much time with Raven, having studies and research to do. They had been studying an organoid pod one day while Raven and his dad were on the roof watching the stars. Raven admitted he didn’t like zoids and hoped there weren’t zoids on their home planet. His dad said they didn’t know. But he promised his son they would go on vacation away from zoids real soon. His mother called away his father when the pod began to open, and little Raven pranced around all happy and cute looking. But then, we here screams and little Raven runs in to find his parents dead on the floor with an evil looking organoid standing over them. Raven tries to attack the organoid (who appears to be Ambient) only to be whipped across the room and knocked unconscious. (Hiltz is standing in the shadows in their house for some reason *coughstalkercough*). Raven is later found by some Republicans and examined by the Wind Colony’s priest who’s a doctor at the time. Van’s Dad, Van Flyheit, suggests adopting home and taking him home to his son (Van). Raven won’t talk and looks all sad. The Republicans find an organoid pod, and just as they are leaving, the Imperial Army (w/ young Prozen) come and interfere. The try to steal the pod, but the Republic releases the pod and the organoid escapes. Van’s dad purposely self-destructs while attacking a group of Imperialists, destroying them all. Little Raven (who was brought along) approaches Prozen and pulls a gun to him. Raven gets mocked about having the safety on and gets knocked to the ground for his insolence (aww). Prozen names the boy Raven due to his hair and adopts him in for the Imperial side. Here, Raven gets trained for several years in all fields. Raven finally gets called by Prozen and some of the Imperial officers drag a wild black organoid in. Prozen says he can have it if he can tame it. The organoid was the same one that got away years ago. Raven pounces on it and after a few moments, the organoid stops trying to fight and allows Raven to command it. Raven names the organoid Shadow and leaves. Here ends GF episode 49: the Distant Stars. VAN FLYHEIT Dun dun DUUUN!!! Yes, Van: Raven’s number one enemy. He HATES Van, and tries to kill him every chance he gets. He says that he will never know peace until Van is dead, in one episode. Van beats him about 2 times, and that’s about it. Not too much to say that I haven’t already stated. They would have grown up like brothers if Dan (Van’s dad) hadn’t died and Prozen hadn’t picked up Raven. But, whet happened, happened, and Raven probably would have been a good boy like Van anyways and … um … eww, no way … REESE We’ll talk about her elsewhere. ZOID HISTORY He originally owned a red ZabreFang (Sabre/Saber Fang/Tiger, whatever) which he received from Prozen. During a fight on a volcano with Van, he managed to actually break through the Shield Liger’s shield with his zoids paw. Of course, this destroyed his zoid, but Raven himself is saved by Shadow. But Raven being the good boy he is received a new zoid that was ever bigger and stronger than the other zoid: a GenoSaurer. Raven really beat the crap out of Van this time, and now he seemed even more incredible. Later, at the very end of CC, the Power of the Heavens restore Van’s totally destroyed Liger and gains the power to blow up Raven’s GenoSaurer, organoid-less (new word! ^^) Raven goes into a shock, I presume, shuffling through deserts unconsciously about 4 years after he lost to Van. He suddenly starts destroying bases again, and when Van looks him in the eye, Raven reawakens. He gets back an Ambient-resurrected GenoSaurer and resumes his fighting. He was SO CLOSE to killing Van that even Van himself states that he “totally lost this one”. But Shadow toes him away and evolves his GenoSaurer into the GenoBreaker. (Sidenote: during this evolution period, Raven gets arrested and we get to here him say mean things to people and see his fine smirks and such *blushes*.) The GenoSaurer is even STRONGER, and he blows everyone away once again. Due to Ambient, his zoid is red instead of black though. Raven gets beaten up, but still fights back. Reese eventually joins him when Shadow is “destroyed” by Hiltz. In the end, Raven fights several GenoSaurers at one time (winning against them all) but winning a gash on the forehead too (poor thing). He saves Van saying that he was the only one allowed to kill him. He manages to weaken the DeathSaurers armor enough that Van could defeat it. So Raven was important to the story. Told ya! ;P the great WHERE WAS HE FROM? mystery One of the biggest Raven debates is where he's from. Raven's father makes a statement that doesn't make sense and confused EVERYBODY. When his father said they were from the blue planet (assumed Earth), chibi Raven asked if there were zoids there, and he said he didn't know. It was something like this: Raven's dad: We come from the Blue Planet. chibi Raven: Are there zoids there, too? Raven's dad: I'm not sure. There might be. Okay, through the research I’ve done, this is what I’ve come down to: It’s said that humans had come to Zi from Earth thousands of years ago while exploring the galaxy. Humans from Earth and the native people of Zi must have started mixing, and Raven is just one of the people that has stayed purely Earth human. When Raven asks if there’s zoids on their home planet, that mean he wants to know if Earth, the planet they were originally from, has zoids. Though Raven was born on Zi, most likely, he has originated from Earth. If you have further opinions … go to the Opinion Polls. |
