Letters From Brunei |
We made several trips to Sarawak, especially as we had to cross the norder to go to Miri to buy supplies of wine and beer. We liked the capital, Kuching, very much and enjoyed the many National Parks. However we did not usually take the camera with us, so this shows just a small selection of the places we visited in Sarawak. |

You can actually walk through the jungle from Brunei to Marudi in Sarawak, but we did it the legal way, by boat from Miri. |

This was our room at the Mulu resort, which blends beautifully into the environment. |

The first time we tried to go to Mulu Caves, the little plane got caught in a storm and could not land, so we had to go back to Miri. We tried again in the next school holidays and this time the weather was so clear the plane was able to do a flight past the Mulu Pinnacles. |

Similijau National Park |

We loved Similijau National Park, near Bintulu. We went for long walks through the jungle and along the seashore, and relaxed at the little Youth Hostel, where we were usually the only guests. |

The Youth Hostel at Similijau, perfectly located to watch the sunset over the sea. |
