"They're coming up so fast, they might be over by the time you read this
Two years ago, Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell was dossing for no rent in an attic of a rock venue, The Verge, in Kentish Town, working the occasional shift at the bar. And when they were recording the demo for their debut single 'Rock 'n' Roll Lies' he had to walk three miles every day to Toerag studios because he could afford the bus. But since the bands Strokesy sound and looks got them signed to Mercury he's been enjoying a far better quality of life. In August Johnny found himself lounging in Tokyo hotels, teaching polite Japenese girls how to be arrogant. The band were there to play the Summer Sonic festival, during which bassist Carl Dalemo gatecrashed Blink 182's set and played air guitar onstage until he was hauled off by the bouncers. Their trip has earned them hardcore Japanese fans who fly to the U.K. for every Razorlight gig. And at home, U.K. admires inundate their fansites 'Razorlight Dreams' section with details of dreams they've had about the band members." |
