Razorlight @ The Barfly - Gonzo On Tour - 26th October '03
"Razorlight open the night's proceedings with as much as edge in their music as their name. Combining a raw, sharp, punk sound with vocals that could belong to Pete Doherty and, at times Jarvis Cocker, Razorlight could come with a 'made in England' sticker. Johnny Borrell has the range, the mannerisms and the all-important talent to carry this band all the way. Complete with rock 'n' roll names, guitarist Bjorn Agren (who moves likes a leather clad thunderbirds puppet) and a half Incan, half Peruvian drummer (Christian Smith-Pancorvo) they seem to have all the ingredients for success. With songs as fresh as previous single 'Rock 'n' Roll Lies', 'In The City' and new single 'Rip It Up' it's hard not to see them following in the footsteps of some other lovable cockney rogues. They could be the Libertines younger, better adjusted little brothers, and is it stands now, they're young, they're beautiful and they will indeed 'Rip it up'"
