   Peter had the rank of Ensign in the militia in or before 1768 and 1771.  He moved from North Hampton to Deerfield in 1764.  He moved again
to Falmouth, Maine between 1774 and 1776.  He bought land at "New Casco" in Falmouth, September 25, 1776, and sold it July 11, 1777.  He appears
in the 1790 census of Falmouth, with a family of 2-2-2.

Stephen /Bachelder/
BIRTH 19 JAN 1755 North Hampton, New Hampshire
DEATH 6 MAR 1847 Jonesboro, Maine
    The U. S. Census schedules show Stephen living in Deerfield, Rockingham County, New Hampshire in 1790-1800, and Effingham (then Strafford, now Caroll County), New Hampshire in 1810.  He then appears in Weelington, Somerset County, Maine.
   In his 1832 pension application as a veteran of the Revolutionary War, Stephen Batchelder stated he was born in North Hampton, New Hampshire and after the war lived at Deerfield, New Hampshire until 1800, then to Effingham, New Hampshire until 1827, then to Wellington, Maine.  (from Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files (Waynesboro, Tennessee : The National Historical Publishing Company, 1990), 1:107)

    Joseph succeeded his father on the farm and added the Basford farm to his holdings.  During the visitation of the throat distemper in 1755 all of his children, twelve or thirteen in number, died.  He sold the farm in 1764 to Col. Jonathan Burnham.
   Joseph Bachelder of South Hampton Gent. conveys to Benjamin Batchelder of South Hampton (no relationship state) his household goods March 31,
1770( N.H. Prov. Deeds 99-504)
   Thomas Rand sued Joseph Bachelder of South Hampton August 15, 1767, naming Moses Falnders of South Hampon as trustee or garnishee.  (Court
File No. 1971)
   Joseph and his wife sued Rand August 18, 1766, for slander.  The story behind it appears in the papers.  Rand as a deputy sheriff tried to arrest Benjamin, the son of Joseph and Miriam in February 1764, on a warrant.  Miriam prevented the arrest, and Rand had her arrrested for assulting hime, and bound over to the grand jury.  That body when it met failed to indict Miriam, who thus cleared proceeded to sue Rand for the libel and arrest.  Their troubles were arbitrated finally b agreement,
and the award, in Rand v. Bachelder was that Joseph pay Rand 15 pounds, and both parties release  (Court File No. 21090)
   The Selectmen of South Hampton, August 9, 1766, ordered the constable "To warn Lut. Joseph Bachelder and his wife Miriam and his Daughters
Miriam and Mary Batchelder To Depart this Town---"  The constable reported they had been in town about two months and twenty eight or nine days.  (Court File No. 29575)

   Josiah inherited "thre score acres of land in Blye east division in Kingstown and allso halfe my lot whare my saw mill stands and ye improvmt of my mill"
   The will of Josiah Bachelder of Kingston, husbandman, October 28, 1760 - December 16, 1769, gives his wife Sarah his pew in E. parish of
Kingston, etc.  Mentions no children but the following:  To Timothy Bachelder son of brother Theophilus Bachelder late of Hampton, certain
real estate after wife's death, he paying legacies.  Isaiah Bachelder son of brother Page Bachelder, late of Chester.  Nephew Jonathan Ring son of
sister Esther now wife of Jonathan Ring of Salisbury, other real estate.  Brother Joseph Bachelder, Brother Francis Bachelder.  Children of brother Page Bachelder.  Sister Susannah wife of Ebenezer Webster, Sister Meribah wife of Elisha Page.  Kinswoman Mary Morse that has for a long time lived with me.  Brother Benjamin. 
   From this it is evident Josiah did not leave the son Josiah whom Pierce gives him.

Susanna /Bachelder/

   Susanna was described as a woman of marked ability and great strength of character, robust in form, with black hair, dark complexion and a piercing black eye. (Must have gotten that from Rev. Stephen).
