He dropped the "Jonathan", and was known as "Moulton" Batchelder as early as his marriage.  Moulton was chosen selectman and treasurer at the
first Plainfield town meeting in 1798, and was treasurer in 1799 and 1800, and held other town offices.

Theophilus /Bachelder/
BIRTH BEF. 11 JAN 1741 Maine
DEATH 29 JAN 1807 Phippsburg, Maine
BAPTISM 11 JAN 1741
Theophilus lived as a young man in Hampton Falls.  Potter's Military History of New Hampshire has one item showing he was in Captain Jeremiah
Marston's Company of Col. John Goffe's Regiment at Crown Point in the French and Indian War, from March 20, to November 27, 1760.  Captain Marston's papers in the Marston Mss show further service.  He enlisted April 10, 1759, but arrived at Crown Point June 20.  He gave a receipt for marching money to May 20, 1760 on that date; another receipt May 26,
1760 dated "Litchfield" in part for billeting money.
Theophilus and his brother went to Georgetown, Maine to build a church, according to Charlotte T. Holmes.  This was what is now the Congregational Church of Phippsburg Center then a part of Georgetown.  They both settled in Phippsburg in 1765, purchasing land on the east side of Casco Bay, or New Meadows River, on the south side of the "Basin," in the locality now known as Sebasco.  Here they lived for the rest of their lives.
Theophilus also served in the Revolution as a Corporal in Captain James Lemont's Co. at Georgetown, July 22 to December 31, 1775.  Commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Mass. Militia in Capt. Jordan Parker's Artillery Co. in the Lincoln County regiment August 21, 1777, stationed at Georgetown.  He was given another commission as 2nd Lt., July 12, 1778.  He enlisted June 16, 1778, for 9 months, but was rejected as unfit for service at age then 38, stature 6 feet, complexion dark, residence Georgetown.
Theophilus belonged to the Phippsburg church, but was by no means as strong a member as his brother Timothy.  The church in 1794 disapproved
of card playing and drinking charged against him.

Timothy /Bachelder/
TITLE Deacon
BIRTH 25 JUL 1742 Maine
DEATH 15 JUL 1816
BAPTISM 15 JUL 1742
OCCUPATION Joiner, Husbandman, Millwright and Gentleman
BURIED Batchelder Burying Ground on the William Butler farm at Sebasco.
Timothy bought fifty acres in Phippsburg from Timothy Blake and one quarter of a saw mill form Andrew Webster in September, 1765.  He later had a grist mill, which ran by a tide wheel in a creek of the Basin.
He was one of the deacons of the church, but gave up the office prior to May, 1797.  Apparently he did this on account of his returning to New
Hampshire in 1796.  This was probably on account of the property left by his uncle Josiah whose widow had died about 1792.  He lived in East Kingston from 1796 to 1800, but then returned to Phippsburg.

Hezekiah /Bachelder/
BIRTH BEF. 8 JUL 1750
DEATH Lincolnville, Maine
BAPTISM DATE 8 JUL 1750
Hezekiah followed his brothers to Phippsburg, Maine and was admitted to the church there June 19, 1768.  He was of Georgetown (Phippsburg) in 1773, but removed to Thomaston, Maine before, 1779.  He bought land in that town in 1785 - 103 acres on Owl's Head Neck, on the southeast side of Wesaweskeag River.  This he sold in March, 1793, and apparently moved to what is now Lincolnville, Maine (then Ducktrap Plantation).  Hezekiah
probably continued to reside there, and in September 1799 he bought of General Knox land in Ducktrap Plantation, and in Northport.  He sold the
Northport land in April, 1806, wife Abigail signing the deed.  He was living in Lincolnville, January 3, 1822.
